Space Day gives you the opportunity participate in the excitement and fascination of space. It's a topic of interest to millions, old and young alike. It's a topic as broad as the universe.
Former astronaut and Senator John Glenn expanded Space Day to International Space Day in 2001. Originally started to get America's youth interested in math and science, Space Day focuses upon creating an interest and awareness of all kinds of topics and issues related to space. This holiday caught on quickly, and became wildly popular. On this day all kinds of space relate organizations, groups and agencies hold celebrations, demonstrations, and educational programs. Don't miss the opportunity to celebrate Space Day.  Find an event near you and ...go! Visit a science center, or observatory. Get out your telescope and view the heavens. Watch television documentaries on space. Make this a fun day and create your own celebration with your kids or in the workplace. Teachers... don't miss creating a special lesson plan for today. The kids will love it.      Space Day was created by Lockheed Martin Corporation in 1997.  The goal was to motivate the youth of America to study math and science. This day was originally established as a one day event. An exciting topic of interest to millions, Space Day became an annual event.

It's Polar Bear Day

It's my special day!!! Polar Bear Day celebrates the world's largest carnivore. A polar bear can grow up to nine feet tall(when standing) and 1400 pounds. They are a favorite at zoos around the country. Polar bears live at the North Pole region, and are native to Alaska, Canada, Greenland, Norway, and Russia. Need some ideas on how to celebrate today? Tops on my list is visiting the local zoo to see live polar bears. Teachers like to use this day to teach about polar bears and other bears, as kids are fascinated with all kinds of bears. Also, check the nature channels on cable Tv. The networks often pick up on holidays like today, and run documentaries.

Did you Know? It is believed that all polar bears are left handed.

Don't Cry Over Spilled Milk Day

 Don't Cry Over Spilled Milk Day is in recognition that everyone spills a little milk now and then. It's a day to be optimistic, think positive, look on the bright side, and to find something good in everything that happens. As the song says: Don't Worry, be Happy! Today is a day to recognize that s_ _ _ happens. And, when it does, Don't worry, or fret, or cry over it. Rather, take a positive attitude and fix it, or get past it. We all know the concept of the question: Is the glass half full or half empty? The pessimist sees it as half empty. The optimist sees it as half full. It's all an attitude towards life.
